Our esteemed faculty member from the Faculty of Health Sciences at Bahçeşehir University, Assoc. Prof. Yonca Sevim, has achieved an important academic milestone through her internationally collaborative research. Her article titled “Validation of a Turkish Version of the Athlete Food Choice Questionnaire” was published in the Q1-ranked journal Nutrients and has been nominated for the 2023 Best Paper Award!

This study examines the adaptation and validation of the Athlete Food Choice Questionnaire (AFCQ) into Turkish, a tool designed to identify the factors influencing athletes’ food choices. By providing key insights into the food decision-making patterns among Turkish athletes, the research makes a valuable contribution to the academic literature in this field.

The AFCQ stands out as a significant tool for evaluating athletes’ food choices within a cultural context, ensuring its cross-cultural applicability. This facilitates healthier and more accurate international comparisons regarding athletes’ dietary habits.
