Intellectual Property and Commercialization

We are responsible for the intellectual property rights management within the university by providing one-to-one service in the protection and commercialization of the knowledge, technology, product developed within BAU. Since 2010, as the Information and Documentation Office of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office; we provide awareness raising, information trainings and support to companies, researchers, entrepreneurs and students about patents, utility models, trademarks and industrial designs. We manage the evaluation of inventions, application process, contract management and licensing services for you. We also offer market research, patent and utility model valuation services within commercialization activities for inventions. We present your novel technology in tech-markets and licensing platforms.

BAU’s distinct approach to invention!

If you are a startup that has already established your company, we provide protection to your inventions and designs by paying the fees, with all rights fully owned by you.
We provide incentive payments for patent and utility model and even invention disclosures for BAU employees and students.
If you are going to become a company with your patent-protected solution developed at BAU, we transfer your rights to your company free of charge.
Before publishing or participating projects and competitions, you can get a free state of the art / novelty report from BAUTTO. Innovation and novelty lie hidden in patent documents, do not forget that.
We carry out licensing activities of TÜBİTAK 1702 licensing program, we develop business together and prepare the application with you and your licensee.

What are we doing for you?

Preliminary Research

We accept Invention Disclosure Forms of BAU researchers, students and entrepreneurs, and we conduct preliminary research on the innovation and patentability of inventions.

Application Management

We conduct the national and international patent application processes and provide qualified service in the writing of the application forms and claims.

Information Days

What are intellectual property rights, how are they protected, can your idea be protected with these rights, is your idea novel and patentable, we organize trainings including technical information and provide answers to these questions.

Patentpreneur

Instead of licensing, if you want to commercialize your invention by yourself, we support you through your transformation into a patentpreneur with BAU Hub programs.

Business Development and Marketing

We manage the licensing and commercialization processes of the inventions developed at BAU, and we organize company visits and business development meetings. We present protected invention in technology and licensing platforms.

Our Intellectual Property Policy and Revenue Sharing

With our transparent intellectual property policy, we protect your inventions in the most comprehensive way and transfer the obtained license income to you as the university that gives the highest share to their inventors.
