The first event of the Academic Gatherings 1 series, organized in collaboration with Bahçeşehir University Center for Learning and Teaching (CLT), the Science Communication Office, and Bilim Kafe, will be held under the title “Yapay Zekâ ve Bilim Etiği: Yeni Köye Aynı Adetler.”

As part of Academic Gatherings 1, this special session will explore the impact of artificial intelligence on scientific production, ethical responsibility, and academic practice from a multidimensional perspective. Alongside the opportunities brought by technological transformation, principles, responsibilities, and ethical boundaries will be discussed with contributions from distinguished academics.

The event will feature Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Esmer and Dr. Sezin Eşfer Öndünç as speakers, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seda Saraç serving as the moderator. Participants will have the opportunity to examine the impact of artificial intelligence on academia from both scientific and ethical perspectives.

The event will take place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Old Courtroom. During the session, the implications of artificial intelligence for scientific research and academic ethics will be discussed through an interdisciplinary perspective.
