BAU Science Communication Office and CIFAL Istanbul Provided Digital Skills Training to Women Producers within the Scope of FAO’s Digital Villages Initiative

As part of the World Food Day events, the “Digital Skills Development Training for Women-Led Cooperatives” held in Ankara on October 9, 2025, brought together women producers with digital transformation.

Within the framework of FAO’s Digital Villages Initiative (DVI), and in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and Bahçeşehir University, BAU Science Communication Office and CIFAL Istanbul took an active role in the design and implementation of the training program.

During the training, participants engaged in hands-on sessions on the effective use of digital tools, online sales and marketing strategies, and social media management. In this way, women-led cooperatives were equipped with the necessary digital skills to bring their products into the digital marketplace and reach wider audiences.

Led by FAO Turkey, the Digital Villages Initiative aims to promote sustainable development in rural areas through digitalization. By sharing its expertise in science communication and digital competencies, Bahçeşehir University contributes to the digital transformation of local producers.
