The 15 July Panel titled “Understanding the Past, Evaluating the Future,” organized in collaboration with the Bahçeşehir University Science Communication Office and the School of Government and Leadership (HLO), was held with the participation of academics and students.

The panel was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Esra Albayrakoğlu, Vice Dean of BAU Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences. Prof. Dr. Kadir Emre Gökyayla (Dean of BAU Faculty of Law), Prof. Dr. Havva Kök Arslan (Director of Üsküdar University Strategic Research Application and Research Center), and Dr. Mehmet Çelik (Publishing Coordinator of Daily Sabah) took part in the programme as speakers.

During the panel, the social and legal dimensions of 15 July, awareness of democracy, national unity and solidarity, and the importance of conveying lessons learned from the past to the future were discussed from different perspectives. While participants followed the speakers’ assessments with interest, different perspectives on the subject were comprehensively addressed throughout the programme.
