Bahçeşehir University Technology Transfer Office (BAUTTO) came together with leading representatives of the international technology transfer and intellectual property ecosystem at PATLIB Conference 2026, organized by the European Patent Office (EPO).

Held on 16–17 September 2026 in Warsaw, Poland, the conference featured İzlem Şahinkaya, University-Industry Collaborations and Technology Transfer Manager at BAUTTO, as a speaker in the panel titled “PATLIB: A Network with a Global Impact.”

Organized within the scope of the European Patent Office’s international network, which brings together more than 300 PATLIB centres, the conference focused on key topics such as the role of intellectual property in innovation and technology transfer, patent and technology valuation processes, startups’ access to finance through intellectual property, and the future competencies required by technology transfer professionals.

In the panel where İzlem Şahinkaya participated as a speaker, the impact of the PATLIB network beyond Europe was discussed within the framework of the Knowledge Transfer to Africa (KT2A) initiative. The session, attended by PATLIB centres from different countries, international organizations, and technology transfer experts, addressed the importance of knowledge sharing, institutional capacity building, strong international networks, and sustainable collaborations within the technology transfer ecosystem.

Alongside Bahçeşehir University, representatives from Sardegna Ricerche, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, the University of Mons, and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) also took part in the panel, sharing their technology transfer experiences and international collaboration models from different countries.
