left;}<\/style>\n<h5>The Faculty of Pharmacy is happy to announce our partnership with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT)-funded Waste2Green Project, approved for funding earlier this year under the EIT Food 2023 \u2013 2025 Impact Funding Framework.<\/h5>\n<p>Microalgae are becoming increasingly important as a means to produce biofuels, cosmetics, food supplements and agricultural products.<strong> The Waste2Green project<\/strong> aims to expedite the process of microalgal cultivation by deriving algal biomass from agricultural wastewaters,<strong> increasing cost-efficiency and minimizing water and fertilizer use<\/strong> in farmlands.<\/p>\n<p>Bah\u00e7e\u015fehir University\u2019s contribution, <strong>headed by Dr. Alper Devrim \u00d6zkan (Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology)<\/strong> will involve the sequencing and biochemical characterization of algal strains, as well as biopesticide and biostimulant activity assays
